How to make friends?

I want to quot a line from one of the books of Dale Carnegie, “If you want others to like you, if you want to develop real friendships, if you want to help others at the same time as you help yourself, keep this principle in mind: Principle 1 Become genuinely interested in other people.

I have quoted this line because if you want to make friends you have to be interested in them. If you are not interested in them then they will not remain in your friends circle.

Here is the thing that how to be interested in someone? Talk with them about their life. Show passion to them that you care about them. Ask them the questions i.e. how are you? what are you doing now a days? how was your last day? what are you going to do next? how is you family? You will see they will turn into you.

There is another thing which is to be interesting, which is not better but we have to know about it. This is the thing we can call it “selfish”. The one who talks more about himself. He will not talk about you. And again I want to quot some lines from Dale’s book:

“People are not interested in you. They are not interested in me. They are interested in themselves- morning, noon and after dinner. The New York Telephone Company made a detailed study of telephone conversations to find out which word is the most frequently used. You have guessed it: it is the personal pronoun “I.” “I.” I.” It was used 3,900 times in 500 telephone conversations. “I.” “I.” “I.” “I.” When you see a group photograph that you are in, whose picture do you look for first?

If we merely try to impress people and get people interested in us, we will never have many true, sincere friends. Friends, real friends, are not made that way.”

Recently, I met with a friend after a long time and we start talking with each other about our daily busy routine that we have not enough time to even reply to a friend. And that’s true. Then I asked about his family, his holidays, about his brother’s study etc. We talked a lot on this things and I observed that he was not tired of this talk. He want to talk about those things.

So, at the end we have to be interested in other people and have to show passion about them.
